Behind the glitz and glamour of the 2021 Women’s Six Nations, many world-class players must work around the clock to fund their rugby dreams.
This list has a mix of players who have left their once arduous day jobs, but others are still grafting on the front line literally...

#5. Chloe Rollie (Scotland) – Dump truck driver

Before turning professional, she worked as a labourer and a dump truck driver for an excavation company. In her teens, she also played football for Hearts.
The 25-year-old full-back's pace, swerve and fend makes her a dangerous broken-field runner. It certainly caught the eye of Great Britain's Sevens selectors who included her in the initial 19-player training squad for Tokyo Olympics.

#4. Shaunagh Brown (England) –  Firefighter

It has been an incredible rise to international rugby for Brown, who only properly started playing the game at the age of 25 and two years later she had her first international cap.
The Harlequins prop represented England in the hammer throw event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and has also worked as a gas engineer, firefighter, and commercial diver.

#3. Sene Naoupu (Ireland) – Lifestyle coach

The centre/fly-half is a lifestyle coach and fitness trainer and operates her own business, Senshaper. In 2016, Naoupu was listed by  as one of the thirty most influential women in Ireland

#2. Vickii Cornborough (England) – IT Business Development Manager

The Harlequins has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Reading and she is an IT Business Development Manager at Cloud Direct.

#1. Claire McLaughlin (Ireland) – Doctor

After studying medicine, the back-rower spent her foundation year as a junior doctor at Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast. At the hospital, her work colleagues gave her the nickname of “McSwaplin”, since she often swapped shifts at the hospital to accommodate her rugby schedule. She will once again be a key member of the 2021 Six Nations squad for Ireland.
During sport's absence, she cared for patients in a hospital in Cardiff. Now, though her focus is all on the pitch. She turned in a player-of-the-match display in the win over Italy in October.
