RUCK.co.uk will have extensive coverage of the tournament, which kicks off in Japan next month...

15. BIG HITS!

This is a basic one - the potential for bone-crunching tackles. With the Rugby World Cup probably the most brutal team event in world sport, the hits will be more vicious than ever.

14. IT’S FREE TO WATCH ON ITV

One of the golden things about the Rugby World Cup is that there’s no Sky Sports or BT Sport subscription required. What better excuse have you got to invite the gang round, break out the beers (or preferred tipple) and chow down on a few sport-inspired snacks? Any excuse for a get-together is good with us…and the riotous thrill you’ll get from screaming at the TV will only make things better.null

13. RIDICULOUS FANCY DRESS

If you think the Six Nations produces some astounding fancy dress efforts, you just wait for the World Cup to get started.

Yes, there'll be the usual Scotsmen in kilts, English loons dressed up as crusaders, Irish lads with novelty Guinness hats on and Welsh people wearing daffodils on their heads.
However, there'll also be Australians in shorts riding inflatable kangaroos and New Zealanders dressed as giant kiwis to throw into the mix.

12. PRODIGIOUS DRINKING

We're not trying to encourage you. We just know what you're like.
The Rugby World Cup is a special sporting occasion. What do we like to do on special sporting occasions? Drink lots of beer.
Your round.

11. POINTS, POINTS AND MORE POINTS

With international giants clashing with comparative minnows in every pool, there are bound to be some absolutely whopping scorelines - the World Cup inevitably throws up a few uneven matches and they're always good fun to watch.
Uruguay will doubtlessly have 90 points put past them at least once. Keep an eye out for the Russia and Namibia - they'll all be on the end of serious drubbings, too.

10. The Haka

The traditional dance of the New Zealand rugby team really is a sight to behold, and never more so than in the hyper-competitive atmosphere of a global tournament.

9. THE EPIC TRAILERS

Did you see this trailer that’s being banded about lately?? We don’t know about any movie trailers…but this ad has got it going on – just another example of how the sporting industry is really stepping things up a notch. Combine Hans Zimmer-worthy score music with a kickass chart hit by a modern music icon, and you can convince anybody to give rugby a try.null

8. THE WORLD'S BEST WILL BE ON SHOW

The talent on show will be INCREDIBLE.

7. THE BANTER

Rugby players always entertain on and off the pitch with their funny social media posts.

6. NATIONAL ANTHEMS

This isn’t football – the national anthems will be done properly, stirring our very souls with their proud and mighty verses.

5. THE LOVEABLE PERSONALITIES

Not all sports have a great number of strong personalities we can actually warm to, but in rugby there are plenty. Whether it’s the inspiring humility and courage of Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones; the hilariously sharp tongue of referee Nigel Owens or the legendary quips and words of wisdom of Honey Badger…we feel the characters and the drama make it worth watching alone.

4. Armchair Punditry

As partisan as the professional pundits might be, we’re all a million times worse. But it’s all a laugh!

3. INCREDIBLE STADIUMS

2. IT OFFERS EXCITEMENT FOR EVERYONE

Not a rugby fan? Don’t worry, the Six Nations is different. It offers something for everyone and with Italy, France, Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England all involved, the big games travel to some of the best cities in Europe. The game WILL capture your attention, but the atmosphere is something to behold. Grab a drink and look up at the big screen, you won’t believe some of the sights you will see…

1. FANTASTIC TRIES

Wow, just wow.

Seriously, don't miss out on this tournament. You'll never forgive yourself.
