What a weekend of Prem rugby that was — a perfect cocktail of grit, flair and drama. From Leicester Tigers’ incredible comeback against Harlequins at Welford Road to Gloucester’s near-miracle fightback against Northampton Saints, it had everything you could ask for.

The blend of physical contests, individual brilliance, and heart-stopping finales made it a very entertaining second round. Here's RUCK's picks for the Team of the Week from Round 2 of the Gallagher Prem.

15. Tyrone Green (Harlequins)

Fullback Green continues to underline just how important he is to Harlequins. He was electric from the back, slicing through the Leicester defence time and again. Making 120 metres from 15 carries and beating six defenders, Green was simply unstoppable at times and instrumental in helping Quins build their early lead. It was a cruel twist that such a standout individual performance ended up on the losing side.

14. Immanuel Feyi-Waboso (Exeter Chiefs)

Feyi-Waboso is fast becoming unplayable after his return from the big injury that saw him miss most of last season. The winger tore up Sandy Park with a brilliant hat-trick. But he wasn’t just about finishing; he brought energy and physicality across the park, running for 60 metres from 11 carries, beating two defenders, and even winning two turnovers. A complete performance from a player in frightening form.

13. Rory Hutchinson (Northampton Saints)

Hutchinson was everywhere at Kingsholm. The Scotland international turned in an immense all-round display, showing his defensive steel and attacking craft in equal measure. Twenty tackles, four turnovers, 50 metres carried, and two assists — plus that crucial try-saving tackle on Ben Loader — made this the most complete midfield performance of the weekend. For all the talk of Tommy Freeman playing 13, Hutchinson sent a message to Saints that he is more than good enough.

12. Owen Farrell (Saracens)

Owen Farrell looked like a man enjoying his rugby again after a torrid time at Racing 92, and it showed. Running the show from inside centre, his calm control and precise distribution helped Saracens dismantle Bristol Bears. He even picked up an assist for his efforts and rediscovered his rhythm off the tee, knocking over seven successful kicks. A leader back in his groove and pulling the strings beautifully in North London.

11. Rotimi Segun (Saracens)

Rotimi Segun’s numbers tell the story: over 110 metres carried, eight defenders beaten, and even a turnover to his name. His energy and intent out wide were constant threats, helping Saracens maintain their attacking dominance. Jack Bracken ran him extremely close, but Segun’s all-round impact just edged it. A performance full of purpose and power.

10. Max Ojomoh (Bath)

Stepping into Finn Russell’s shoes is no small task, but Max Ojomoh is handling it with remarkable maturity. The Bath fly-half has seamlessly adapted to his expanded role, guiding the team’s trademark attacking rhythm while adding his own spark. Against Sale, he again showed composure beyond his years, showing he’s not just filling in — he’s flourishing.

9. Ben Spencer (Bath)

Friday night was another example of his class and control, as he managed the wet conditions to perfection. His tactical kicking pinned Sale back time and again, and his composure kept Bath’s tempo just right. Four conversions from the tee capped off yet another polished performance from one of the league’s most consistent scrum-halves.

1. Bevan Rodd (Sale Sharks)

England international Bevan Rodd was an absolute menace at the set piece, giving Vilikesa Sela a torrid evening in the rain of Bath. But his contribution didn’t stop there — Rodd worked tirelessly around the park, racking up 14 tackles and seven carries. The kind of uncompromising shift that defines him as one of the best looseheads in the league.

2. Tom Dunn (Bath)

Bath stalwart Dunn once again embodied the Bath spirit — relentless, physical, and ever-present. In a round stacked with strong hooker performances, Dunn stood out for his work rate. He made nine carries and topped the team’s defensive charts with 11 tackles, helping Bath maintain their grip in the physical exchanges.

3. Afolabi Fasogbon (Gloucester)

Afolabi Fasogbon provided one of the weekend’s moments with his spectacular diving try — the “ash splash” from a tighthead prop! But beyond the highlight reel, he was immense in the core duties too, twice getting the better of the Saints scrum on their own feed and hitting double digits in tackles. A brilliant display of power and athleticism from the young front-rower.

4. Cam Jordan (Gloucester)

Cam Jordan was at the heart of Gloucester’s fightback at Kingsholm. Not only did he cross for two tries, but he also led the defensive charge with a team-high 12 tackles. His work rate and energy set the tone for the Cherry and Whites’ second-half surge. A standout game from a player growing in stature every week.

5. Ollie Chessum (Leicester Tigers)

Leicester looked like a different team with Ollie Chessum back in their ranks. Fresh from Lions duty, he dominated in every facet — lineout precision, bruising physicality, and relentless effort. His 30-plus metres with ball in hand, coupled with a try assist, underlined just how influential he is. A towering return from one of England’s finest forwards.

6. Emeka Ilione (Leicester Tigers)

Another Tiger who made a huge impact in that comeback win was Emeka Ilione. The young flanker continues to push his name into England conversations, hitting ten tackles and carries, racking up 38 metres, and winning two turnovers. His power and presence in key moments turned the tide for Leicester. A breakout season could be unfolding before our eyes after a couple of years of being supremely underrated in the Tigers squad.

7. Greg Fisilau (Exeter Chiefs)

Fisilau is thriving in Exeter’s dynamic back-row setup, and his performance against Newcastle was another reminder of his growing influence. With 15 carries for 52 metres and three defenders beaten, he brought real bite to Chiefs’ attack. His physical edge and energy around the breakdown were just as important — a complete back-row effort from a player on the rise.

8. Amanaki Mafi (Newcastle Red Bulls)

Even in defeat, Amanaki Mafi was immense. The Japan international was everywhere for Newcastle, powering through 74 metres and racking up 16 tackles. His trademark physicality and tireless work kept his side in the contest for large parts of the game. A warrior-like performance, full of heart and impact.
