Statement: Saracens confirms the signing of England forward

The 6ft 6in, 127kg Leicester Tigers enforcer will make the switch next year, handing Saracens a major boost as they add yet more muscle and international pedigree to their already fearsome pack.

Martin’s rise has been nothing short of explosive. A product of Brooksby Melton College and the Leicester Tigers Academy, he stormed onto the scene with a senior debut against Worcester before earning an England cap just 18 months later.

His upward trajectory continued with selection for Steve Borthwick’s 2023 Rugby World Cup squad, where his physical, abrasive style drew widespread praise.

Despite an injury-hit 2024/25 campaign, the 24-year-old has already collected 21 caps for England and remains one of the country’s most exciting long-term forward prospects.

He also brings title experience, having come off the bench in Leicester’s dramatic 2021/22 Gallagher Premiership final win over Saracens.

Saracens boss Mark McCall couldn’t hide his excitement at securing such a high-ceiling talent.
