Rampant Scotland tore France’s Grand Slam dream to shreds with a breathtaking seven-try demolition at Murrayfield that blew the Six Nations title race wide open.
In a jaw-dropping thriller that produced 13 tries and 90 points, Gregor Townsend’s side were electric for long stretches, cutting apart the previously dominant French with ruthless precision before a chaotic late spell allowed Les Bleus to pile on a flurry of consolation scores.
But the night belonged to the Scots. They crossed seven times and racked up more than 50 points, overwhelming a French outfit that arrived looking imperious but left Edinburgh battered, bruised and suddenly vulnerable in the championship race.

15 Blair Kinghorn — 7
Not the busiest player, despite growing into the game as it went on. Made one strong run late in the first half, which came after losing an early aerial challenge. Made a couple of nice offloads over to Darcy Graham.
14 Darcy Graham — 8.5
What a player. Overtook Duhan van der Merwe with two tries to become Scotland’s all-time leading try-scorer. His first was from finding a smart line, and his second was similar, using his pace to exploit a gap from close range. An incredibly agile player who even ran completely round Antoine Dupont while facing his own try line. Only criticism would be that France’s first two tries were down his wing.
13 Huw Jones — 7.5
Some strong carries, but was overall somewhat of a quiet match, considering how much joy his team had in the match. Made a poor kick in behind in the first half, and no hugely notable moments aside from that. Still good though.
12 Sione Tuipulotu — 8
Great linkup across the course of the whole match, as the secondary playmaker and primary carrier. Got the ball stripped for France’s first try, his only real blemish from an otherwise strong match.
11 Kyle Steyn — 9
Incredible game from Steyn, who just got better and better as the match went on. Started off with a couple of solid defensive involvements on Theo Attissogbe, before going over with a great finish from George Turner’s offload.
Dotted down for his side’s fifth too, showing great pace to break through to not be caught. Generally made plenty of yards too, leading the match in that aspect statistically.
10 Finn Russell — 9
When Scotland need Russell, he seems to relish the opportunity and steps up to the plate, which he did today. Kicked very well, including some smart ones into the sun early on, dictated the play as he always does and got a smart assist for Darcy Graham.
Even mucked in defensively with a smart stop on Louis Bielle-Biarrey that showed good gamesmanship. Everything went through him and that fluidity of the attack was largely down to him.
9 Ben White — 9
Kept Scotland on top with incredibly quick service over the course of the entire game. His kicking was smart, especially early on into the sun.
Even got in on the try-scoring with an effort that was finished well after slipping through the side of a ruck. Possibly the key player in a very impressive attack.
1 Pierre Schoeman — 8
Played extremely well and was key in a strong scrum, and got involved in plenty of carrying. Went over from close range to score a try. Great performance.
2 George Turner — 8.5
Solid lineout throwing throughout, and by far his most memorable moment from this match will be his perfectly time offload round the back for Kyle Steyn’s try, which came just after his lineout as well. Came off just after Scotland’s fifth.
3 D’Arcy Rae — 7
Came off just before 40 minutes and played his role very well, as it was expected that he would solidify the scrum early on and make way for Zander Fagerson relatively early on. The scrum went well while he was on the pitch, so Rae can be considered to have put in a very good shift, albeit with little impact outside of that.
4 Gregor Brown — 7
Put in some serious graft in his 34 minute spell on the pitch, before getting replaced by Grant Gilchrist. Solid in offensive lineouts and Scotland’s tactics meant they didn’t challenge defensive ones, but Brown did his job and set up a good platform for the backs to work from.
5 Scott Cummings — 7.5
Did his job to a very high level. In similar fashion to Brown, was great on offensive lineouts, and didn’t challenge defensive ones per the tactics. Elsewhere, his great work in a maul won a scrum for his side with France just metres from Scotland’s try-line.
6 Matt Fagerson — 7
Won the back row battle against his French counterparts, working hard around the breakdown with a decent amount of joy, as well as putting in a fair few big carries. Didn’t do much that will steal any headlines, but was certainly a strong performer.
7 Rory Darge — 7.5
A very Darge game, where he threw himself about with lots of tackle involvements, and some great work at the breakdown to prevent France ever getting a real foothold in the game.
8 Jack Dempsey — 7
Probably the quietest of the back row unit, but still didn’t play badly at all. Lots of carries, and some good playmaking, including a well improvised pass from the floor that found his man.
