Premiership Rugby Team of the Season revealed for 2024/25

The line-up features players from seven different clubs, underlining the depth and competitiveness of the league this year.

Among the headline names are England and British & Irish Lions captain Maro Itoje, who once again proved his class in the engine room for Saracens, and George Ford, whose consistent form at fly-half steered Sale Sharks into the playoffs.

Bath Rugby lead the way with three selections, including the powerful front-row duo of Tom Dunn and Thomas du Toit, as well as back-row dynamo Ted Hill. Bristol Bears also make a strong showing, with Joe Batley’s towering performances in the second row earning recognition, alongside the electric Gabriel Ibitoye and midfield powerhouse Benhard Janse van Rensburg.

Sale Sharks are equally well represented, with four players making the cut: Ben Curry, Tom Roebuck, Robert du Preez, and the ever-reliable Ford. Meanwhile, Gloucester’s attacking flair is rewarded through the inclusions of scrum-half Tomos Williams and full-back Santi Carreras.

The team was selected by an expert panel of journalists, broadcasters, and former players, including Ugo Monye, Rachael Burford, Chris Jones, and Nick Mullins. Their picks reflect not only individual brilliance but also the players’ impact on their teams’ fortunes across a fiercely contested season. With Lions selection looming and the domestic calendar heading into its final stretch, these players have firmly cemented their status as the league’s elite.
