Team News: England vs Canada - Women's Rugby World Cup Final

Only World Rugby Women’s 15s Player of the Year nominee Megan Jones and six-try wing Jess Breach have been named in England's starting XV for every match of the tournament

Tatyana Heard lines up at inside centre with Natasha Hunt and Zoe Harrison partnering in the half-back positions. This means Holly Aitchison and Lucy Packer, who impressed off the bench against France, again have to settle for a replacements berth

Meanwhile in the forwards pack, Abbie Ward retains her place in the second row ahead of Rosie Galligan. 14 of the 23 were also in the match day squad for the 2021 final (played in 2022). Scrum-half Hunt also started the 2014 final between England and Canada, while Alex Matthews - who starts at number eight - was on the bench. Emily Scarratt and Marlie Packer, who also starred in the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup Final win over Canada, have not been included in the match day squad.

There are three survivors from Canada's defeat to England in the Women's Rugby World Cup final 2014. Karen Paquin starts at openside flanker and Tyson Beukeboom and Olivia DeMerchant are on the replacements bench as they were 11 years ago. The last time Canada and England met was in the WXV1 final in 2024 in Vancouver, where England scored two late tries to claim a 21-12 victory
