And the, frankly horrifying/hilarious, news that Scott Baldwin missed Ospreys clash on Friday after an altercation with a Lion is a good enough reason to roll it out again.
The injury caused us to spring into action and dig out that old favourite article listing bizarre rugby injuries, with seven of the best below.
Don't say we don't give you what you want.
1. Martin Castrogiovanni
The Italian prop missed a Six Nations clash in 2015 after being bitten on the nose by a friends dog. He needed 14 stitches for the wound.
2. Sam Jones
The 24-year-old Wasps flanker had been pushing for a place in Eddie Jones' side for the autumn internationals in 2016 but was ruled out with a broken leg after a mishap doing judo with Maro Itoje. The injury unfortunately led to the flanker having to retire.
3. Daniel Contreras
Daniel Contreras fell to the floor in a ruck and stood up to see his finger had been chomped straight off. The horrific incident happened during a ruck in a regional tournament match between Corsarios de Tucuman and Aguara Guazu in the Argentine city of Tucuman.
4. Johan Goosen
Arriving for the match at Toulouse, Goosen injured his knee in the simple act of getting off the team bus.
5. Matt Banahan
Bath’s longest-serving player Banahan sliced open his wrist… using the dishwasher. It looked pretty nasty.
6. Stuart Hogg
Hoggy was left clutching his head after a clash with his own team-mate Conor Murray during the British and Irish Lions' tour match against the Crusaders.
7. Wayne Shelford
Shelford was a notable victim of the infamous “Battle of Nantes”, one of the most aggressive games of rugby ever witnessed. During the game a French boot found its way into Shelford’s groin, somehow ripping his scrotum and leaving him with one testicle hanging free.
Shelford was caught at the bottom of a ruck 20 minutes into the game, losing four teeth, and sustained a large tear to his scrotum courtesy of a stray French boot.
Incredibly, Shelford had his injury stitched on the sideline and played on until deep into the second half, when a knock to the head left him concussed and unable to continue.
