There have been dozens of fine Gallagher Premiership players who have represented England, but have somehow been forgotten by many fans.

This list features five current stars you may have forgot once played for England.

The winger knew how to get over the whitewash as his 96 tries in various competitions for Gloucester would attest to. The 30-year-old made his England debut against Wales in a World Cup warm-up match on 6 August. However, he’d play just four times in total for England with two tries to his name. It could, or maybe should have been so many more.

The Wasps hooker was on the cusp of international selection for a while before making his England debut as a replacement alongside Ellis Genge against Wales on 29 May 2016. However, a number of injuries followed, and with the emergence of Jamie George and Luke Cowan-Dickie, it's been tough for Taylor to get back into the mix.

Clark featured for his country at age group level, playing for England U18’s up to U20’s. He progressed to senior International rugby in 2014, captaining the Saxons before making a full debut against France in the Rugby World Cup 2015 warm-up match against France. However, this would be his only appearance.

At international level, he has represented England at U19 and U20 level, taking part in the inaugural Junior World Championship in Wales in 2008, as well as playing for the Sevens and Saxons teams. Despite being a regular in Premiership teams of the week, Simpson has just one cap from when he represented England in Rugby World Cup 2011.

Worcester Warriors fan favourite fullback, Pennell was called up to the England training squad by coach Stuart Lancaster, and in May 2014 he flew out with the squad for the Barbarians' fixtures. He made his England debut and only appearance to date during the tour, coming off the bench in the 20-15 loss to New Zealand
