8 great players we can't believe have never won Premiership Player of the Month

George Ford, Maro Itoje and, erm, Tom Varndell have scooped the top flight's individual award. But none of these eight stars has. Ever...
The award was only established in 2013, so we're only highlighting prominent players who have been in the division following then.

1. Owen Farrell
The England fly-half has won three Premiership winners' medals during his time with Saracens and was an instrumental part of the 2015/16 double-winning side. Farrell has also been nominated for World Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017.
But oddly, the England stalwart has never done enough to win a POTM award with fellow England playmakers Danny Cipriani and George Ford both having received the prize.
2. George North
The Welsh wing-wizard has scored 32 tries in 104 outings for Saints since his big-money move to Franklin's Gardens from Scarlets in 2013.
A few injuries, chiefly concussions, mean he has missed quite a bit of action through injury, however, it's still a surprise that the 25-year-old British & Irish Lion has never won a POTM.
3. Charles Piutau
During his season at Wasps in 2015, the All Blacks speedster was spectacular in his 23 appearances for the club. He was then nominated for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Season and was named in the Team of the Season.
He additionally scored a notable try in the 80th minute against Exeter Chiefs in the European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-final to help Wasps reach the semi-final.
4. Louis Picamoles
Undoubtedly Northampton’s best player during his one season (2016/17) in England, Picamoles was named Saints Players’ Player of the Season and Supporters Player of the Season – but apparently didn't do enough to warrant a POTM at any point.
The Frenchman was also named in the Premiership Dream Team.
5. Billy Vunipola
Pivotal in Saracen's two Premiership title victories, Vunipola was named in the team of the year in 2015/16 and 2016/17 but hasn't done enough to earn himself a POTM award.
6. James Haskell
Yep, that’s right. The king of social media and England powerhouse has somehow never won a player of the month award. There's still time...
7. Schalk Brits
When he retires at the end of this season, Brits deserves to be acclaimed as the greatest import in the history of the Premiership. He is that good. However, the South African hooker is another star never to win the POTM award.
Joining the club in 2009, the South African hooker has helped to redefine the role of the hooker with his pragmatic style of play, making over 200 appearances for the club, winning a heap of trophies. In fine form, he’ll be hoping to win a bit more silverware before he hangs up his boots.
8. Joe Launchbury
The Wasps skipper has been one of the black and golds most consistent performers in recent years and was instrumental in his side reaching the Premiership final last season.
It's a shock the Wasps skipper has never won a POTM award.
