"The man's skill-set is so complete" - 5 players Sir Clive Woodward would have loved to coach

The 2003 Rugby World Cup winner took charge of some of the best players rugby has ever seen, including the likes of Jonny Wilkinson, Martin Johnson and Brian O'Driscoll.

With various sources, Woodward has discussed some of the players he wishes he could have coached, mixing players from both the current and past generations.

WOODWARD SAID: "I've always liked the look of Genge. He has plenty of attitude and X-factor and as long as that is controlled and channelled he has a big Test future. Genge has exceptional mobility, really makes a dent with ball in hand and his scrummaging is improving."

WOODWARD SAID: "Gifted scrum-half. Tough, nuggety but with blazing pace on the break and a wonderful step. Best in the world right now."

WOODWARD SAID:"Cipriani is the only English number 10 of the past 20 years who, if I'd been coach and he had been up for selection at the same time as Jonny, could have caused big selection headaches.

"The man's skill-set is so complete. He poses an attacking threat with ball in hand and has a superb kicking game and world-class distribution. I think Wilkinson would have got the nod over him in the end but the fact I even mention them in the same breath shows how highly I rate Cipriani."

WOODWARD SAID: "He is one of the all-time greats and he didn't just put rugby back on the map, he took it to a whole new level,

"The 1995 World Cup, he dominated that World Cup with his sheer athleticism, his sheer presence and he - with a couple of other players - took the game into the professional era because people realised these guys were amazing players, amazing athletes and the game could go professional."

When later discussing his dream team, he had this idea for his wings: "Imagine Lomu on one wing and Jason Robinson on the other. That would be devastating"

WOODWARD SAID: "The greatest talent I played against was Gareth Edwards. He was in his last season and I was in my first.

"His talent was undiminished and he had a great aura. His banter with his old Lions mate Bob Hiller was also priceless. I would have loved to coach him."
