The organisers of the Six Nations have hinted at potential revisions to the bonus-point system "if it became a problem."
As the final round of the men's championship approaches, the prospect of a thrilling conclusion looms large, with Ireland, England, Scotland, and France all still in contention for the title.
The complex permutations of "Super Saturday" mean that Ireland could conceivably lose to Scotland and still clinch the championship, even if England were to triumph against France in Lyon.
This outcome would raise questions about the competition's integrity, as Ireland would be crowned champions despite winning fewer matches than England.
In response to queries about potential adjustments to the bonus points system, Harrison acknowledged the possibility, stating, "Yes, if we think bonus points are a problem. But remember why bonus points are there – bonus points are there to promote positive rugby.
"It’s about fan engagement, right? Also, players know it’s not as though we’re saying, ‘You’ve played so well, we’re going to award you an extra point afterwards’.
"No, I don’t think it will change."
