Statement: Harlequins confirm the signing of Argentina international

Isgro is no stranger to success, having made a name for himself on the rugby 7s circuit. He was instrumental in Argentina's bronze medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and was crowned World Rugby 7s Player of the Year in 2023. During his stellar 7s career, Isgro played 152 matches for Argentina, racking up an impressive 355 points with 71 tries. At the recent Paris Olympics, he put in a standout performance, scoring a try against France in the Quarter-Finals and later featuring in the fifth-placed play-off against New Zealand.

On the 15s front, Isgro's journey began with Mendoza before he made his Test debut for Argentina in the 2023 Rugby Championship against Australia. His international prowess was further highlighted at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, where he crossed the try line in Argentina’s commanding 59-5 victory over Chile.

Upon completing his move to Harlequins, Isgro said: “I’m very excited for this opportunity with Harlequins. It was always my dream to play for a club like Quins and I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates. I hope I can help the team to achieve our goals and I can’t wait to put on the Quins shirt and play in that stadium with so much history.”

Head Coach Danny Wilson added: “We’re delighted to secure the services of Rodrigo. He’s a dynamic athlete, quick and skilful, who adds further international experience to our squad and provides great depth on the wing. He’s a mature player who we expect to hit the ground running and contribute to our objectives this season.”

The tournament commences on Friday, 31 January, with France hosting Wales in Paris, with kick-off at 9:15 pm local time. This hasn't gone down well with fans.

England will play the following day, as Scotland takes on Italy at Murrayfield, as announced by tournament organisers.

As per this year, the 2025 Championship will see BBC and ITV sharing coverage in the UK, with S4C offering Welsh language options. France Television will be the home of the Championship for French fans, RTE and Virgin Media will once again cover the games in Ireland. In Italy, Sky Italia will continue their coverage of the Championship in 2025. The host broadcast coverage will also be complemented by widespread international broadcast coverage and a World Feed service.
