Statement: England forward handed three-match ban

England U20 forward Ollie Streeter has been handed a three-match suspension – reduced to two – following a red card he received during England’s clash with Wales in the World Rugby U20 Championship on 14 July 2025.

Streeter was sent off for a dangerous clear out under Law 9.20(a) during the match at the Stadio Luigi Zaffanella in Viadana. The foul play review committee, chaired by Ireland’s Jennifer Donovan alongside Donal Courtney (Ireland) and former Wallaby John Langford, reviewed the incident as part of World Rugby’s new expedited disciplinary process.

The committee found that Streeter’s action involved direct contact with the head, carried a high degree of danger, and lacked any mitigating factors. While the player accepted that foul play had occurred, he did not agree that it merited a red card. However, the committee upheld the sanction after reviewing the footage and written submissions.

Under World Rugby regulations, a mid-range sanction of three matches was proposed. That ban has been reduced to two matches after Streeter agreed to complete World Rugby’s Coaching Intervention Programme.

He will be eligible to return for Round 2 of the Premiership Cup on 20 September 2025, subject to completing the intervention programme.
