England prop Joe Marler is considering quitting professional rugby, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has received a fiery backlash after the incident earlier this month in which he was banned for grabbing Alun Wyn Jones' by the privates during the Six Nations clash with Wales.
Here's how social media has reacted:
Joe Marler’s dream XV: England prop picks best stars he played against
Joe Marler picked a 'Best 15' selection of players he had shared a rugby pitch for Joe.co.uk, and his additional reason for naming an Aussie fullback had a hint of mischief.
JOE MARLER'S BEST XV
1. Tony Woodcock (New Zealand) 2. Rory Best (Ireland) 3. Carl Hayman (New Zealand)
11. Siteveni Sivivatu (New Zealand) 12. Ma'a Nonu (New Zealand) 13. Brian O'Driscoll (Ireland) 14. Josua Tuisova (Fiji) 15. Israel Folau (Australia)
On selecting Folau as his fullback, Marler commented, "On the night out, after we had played our match on the Saturday, I'd take him out in Brighton to The Blue Oyster... a couple of clubs."
Really hope he doesn’t quit.
He did something stupid but haven’t we all?!
I fear social media abuse has played a part.
