Shaun Edwards says rugby must forgive former Welsh coach Rob Howley following the betting scandal uncovered prior to the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Edwards told MailOnline: "I've known Rob for nearly 20 years now. He came to Wasps as a player in 2002 and he was one of the best players I ever coached. He's gone on to become a very successful coach as well.
"He made a mistake and he's owned up to it, so let's forgive and forget. Richards made a mistake, put his hands up and came back a credit to the game. I'm sure Rob will do the same."
"He's had 12 years as an international coach and experienced a lot of things," added Edwards.
"He's done a few hard yards and he knows what it's all about."
