Here’s the lowdown on the new recruits ready to make their mark:
Max Malins | Full-back | From Bristol Bears |
England full-back Max Malins will rejoin Saracens at the end of the 2024-25 season after two impactful years at Bristol Bears. Currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles, Malins admitted the injury cut his Bears career short.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my two stints at Bristol – this place has become a home away from home for me. It’s sad that injury has prevented me from contributing more and knowing I have played my last game in a Bristol shirt.
I would have loved to run out with my mates and say goodbye to the fans from the pitch one last time. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing you all down at Ashton Gate for the remaining games and watching what the team can produce for the run-in to the end of the season.”
Malins started his career at Saracens, playing a key role in their Premiership title-winning season before moving to Bristol. Now, he’s ready to come back and bring that winning experience home.
Marcus Street | Prop | From Exeter Chiefs |
25-year-old Marcus Street joins from Exeter Chiefs after eight years and over 100 appearances. Street has been part of multiple title-winning squads, including Premiership, Champions Cup, and Anglo Welsh campaigns. He also represented England at U18 and U20 levels.
Excited for the next step, Street said:
“I am excited for this move and to get started at Saracens! I am looking forward to learning new skills and developing my game at this great club. Here’s to making memories!”
Director of Rugby Mark McCall added:
“Marcus has gained a significant amount of experience in the Premiership for such a young player and we are certain that his best days lie ahead. He joins a young, talented, ambitious group of forwards and has the potential to help us go to the next level.”
Vilikesa Nairau | Loosehead Prop | From Coventry |
The 22-year-old Fijian loosehead prop arrives after a season at Coventry in the Championship. Known for his explosive ball-carrying and surprising pace, Nairau can play on either side of the scrum. He’s represented Fiji U20 against top nations and played in the World Armed Forces Championship last year.
Nairau reflected on his journey and new opportunity:
“I would like to thank the Almighty God for the blessings that he has given me and of course the coaches and the management for putting their trust in me to come and join the family. It’s my first professional rugby contract and I’m ready to stand alongside the boys and fight along with them.”
Tietie Tuimauga | Tighthead Prop | From Montauban |
Samoan international Tietie Tuimauga joins Saracens after two seasons with French side Montauban. The 31-year-old has earned eight caps for Samoa and can play both tighthead and loosehead. His experience includes spells in France, Connacht, and New Zealand’s Wellington.
Mark McCall commented:
“He will bring plenty of experience and know-how to our front row, and with his scrummaging ability, we believe he will be a real asset for us moving forward.”
