Wales legend Sam Warburton has named his three British & Irish Lions bolters when discussing who could make Warren Gatland's squad this summer.1. LOUIS REES-ZAMMIT (WALES)
Warburton said: "Rees-Zammit still has some things to work on defensively, but that part of his game has clearly come on, and I think his pace and X factor are irresistible for a coach. I’m sure Warren will be excited to work with him."
Did you know? Having started his youth career with the
Cardiff Blues, he moved to
Hartpury College and from there to the academy of
Gloucester Rugby.
2. TADHG BEIRNE (IRELAND)
Warburton said: "He e played so well again that it looks increasingly difficult to leave him out of a Lions starting team. Which in itself is going to create some problems for Gatland."
Did you know? He primarily plays as a
lock, but can also play as a
flanker or
number 8.
3. JOHNNY WILLIAMS (WALES)
Warburton said: "He impressed me with his physicality and all-round game in the autumn, but he missed most the Six Nations. Toby Flood recently told me how good he thought Williams was when they played together at Newcastle Falcons. His potential is huge.”
Did you know? In June 2019 Williams played for England in a non capped international 51-43 win against the
Barbarians, scoring a try
