Sale Sharks Director of Rugby Steve Diamond is due to appear before an independent disciplinary panel. He has been charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game contrary to RFU Rule 5.12.
Following the match Sale Sharks v Exeter Chiefs on Friday 27 October 2017, Diamond gave a broadcast interview during which he allegedly failed to respect the authority of the match referee, Craig Maxwell-Keys.
Diamond’s hearing will take place in Chester on Thursday 16 November at 18:30. The panel will be chaired by Ian Unsworth QC with two other panel members to be confirmed.
It is also worth remembering Diamond still has three weeks of a six-week ban (suspended until 2019) on his record for the same offence.
