Red Roses confirm squad for Six Nations, with over 1000 combined international caps

Head coach John Mitchell has named a 38-player Red Roses squad for the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations campaign.

Megan Jones will captain the side, supported by vice-captains Amy Cokayne and Alex Matthews. The squad comprises 22 forwards and 16 backs, with a combined total of 1,143 international caps.
Among them are 25 Rugby World Cup winners, highlighting the depth of experience within the group.
Seven players are in line to earn their first senior international caps. They are Christiana Balogun, Millie David, Haineala Lutui, Annabel Meta, Sarah Parry, Demelza Short and Jodie Verghese.
Mitchell said:
“It’s great to be back together and ready to earn the right again following the Rugby World Cup.
"The impact of that tournament across the country has been outstanding. That’s reflected in the incredible ticket sales, not just for our matches at Allianz Stadium and Ashton Gate, but across the Six Nations as a whole.
"For us as the Red Roses, this marks a fresh start. The Six Nations is hugely important, and we know success in this competition has to be earned every time.
"We’re excited by the energy the younger players will bring, alongside our experienced group. It’s important for me to stay open-minded about player combinations, and I’ll be observing how players compete and handle pressure.
"Ultimately, it’s about who is willing to take the handbrake off, attack the game, and express themselves.”
The squad will assemble at the England Rugby Performance Centre at Pennyhill Park on Monday 23 March to begin preparations.
England will open their campaign against Ireland at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 11 April. More than 67,000 tickets have already been sold, a tournament record, with the top tier opened for a Women’s Six Nations match for the first time.
Their second home fixture will see them face Wales at Ashton Gate in Bristol, where a record crowd for a Red Roses match outside Allianz Stadium has already been confirmed.
