Funnily, his team goes by the name '4 Chumps and a Champ', which clearly related to his back-to-back Rugby World Cup wins in 2011 and 2015.
They are participating in the 5 Passes Tour, a four-day cycling expedition meticulously supported by a team of over 20 crew members dedicated to fulfilling every need.
The journey commences in Christchurch on the east coast of the South Island, leading through the Alpine Village of Hanmer Springs.

Amazing body transformations of 6 rugby stars

These rugby players have enjoyed a remarkable body transformation over the years, with some bulking up while others seriously slimmed down.

RICHIE MCCAW

The All Blacks legendary captain has revealed he's dropped 17kg since retiring, shifting what he called 'unnecessary rugby muscle'.
Since hanging up his boots following their 2015 World Cup triumph, McCaw has become obsessed with ultra-hardcore marathons and has shifted a lot of that weight to give him a speed advantage.
The 41-year-old, who weighed 107 kg, is now closer to 90kg since dropping the weight.

DAVID POCOCK

The Wallabies legend started out as an skinny 78kg teen who worked day in and day out to transform himself, with his size and strength came at a cost, Pocock told Australian Story.

PHIL VICKERY

The World Cup-winning prop has transformed his body since hanging up his boots. Vickery, who won the 2011 series of Celebrity Masterchef, has recently opened his new Cheltenham restaurant, No.3, after the Coronavirus pandemic delayed first orders. He's literally half the man he used to be.

MATT DUNNING

When he was a prop for the Wallabies Matt Dunning weighed 130kg and was constantly mocked for his tubby frame.
But since retiring from rugby union the 35-year-old has lost a staggering 40kg, dropping from 25 per cent body fat to just 11 per cent in six months.
He looks amazing.

So I seriously can’t thank everyone enough for contacting me, showing interest in my continued journey and also being kind I’m still smashing through messages, so please bare with me if I haven’t yet got back to you. •’
