Owen Farrell out as Sky Sports’ Lions Tour pundit after just one game

Former England captain Owen Farrell has stepped down from his role as a pundit for the British & Irish Lions tour after just one match — a move that was planned in advance. His departure comes after the Lions' opening tour defeat to Argentina.

New Additions to the Commentary Team
Farrell’s replacements are two experienced former fly-halves: Ronan O'Gara and Dan Biggar. Both were unavailable for the tour's opening weekend in Dublin due to club commitments but will now bring their tactical expertise to the coverage.
The broadcast team boasts a world-class lineup of former internationals and Lions legends, including:
- Dan Biggar, providing fresh, field-level insight alongside lead commentator Miles Harrison.
- Ronan O'Gara, offering in-depth studio and pitchside analysis.
- Additional contributors: Will Greenwood, Kyle Sinckler, John Barclay, Conor Murray, Nolli Waterman, Anthony Watson, and legendary coaches Warren Gatland and Sir Ian McGeechan.
Farrell’s Availability and Injury Update
Farrell was never scheduled to travel to Australia with Sky Sports, keeping him eligible for potential selection by his father, Lions coach Andy Farrell. He has not played since sustaining a head injury during Racing 92's Challenge Cup semi-final loss to Lyon last month.
