Legendary referee Nigel Owens is weighing up a potential full-time return to the game after stepping back onto the pitch for a special anniversary clash between Lampeter Town RFC and London Welsh in west Wales.

It was his first official outing since he took charge of his 100th Test match – France v Italy – way back in the autumn of 2020.

Speaking post-match, he reflected on the buzz of being back in the thick of the action:
"I actually refereed a game here when they opened the new clubhouse 10 years ago. I was always hoping to carry on refereeing the community game, but I've been so busy over the last four years, between everything, I haven't had time to be honest. I may start back next year."
