England and Harlequins prop Joe Marler has responded to Sir Clive Woodward after the World Cup winning coaching branded him 'embarrassing’.
Woodward had said Marler and Dan Cole’s behaviour in a pre-match preference prior to the 2019 World Cup final was embarrassing.
“... Honestly, I sat there and it was like Laurel and Hardy. I’m going, ‘I know they’re on the bench but this is 48 hours from the World Cup final’. It was to me poor and that is me being polite. It was really poor,” Woodward said.
“South African journalists... came up to me... after these two had finished larking around after 20 minutes - it wasn’t larking around, it was embarrassing - and said, ‘well if that’s the mood in the England camp we have got half a chance’.
Marler responded by tweeting at the former coach saying: “Change the record Sir Clive - you should be grateful you can ‘milk the cow’ for another three years.”

7 things you didn’t know about Joe Marler
1.Starting out
Marler started his career at Haywards Heath RFC in Sussex where he played in the same side as fellow England international Billy Twelvetrees.
Despite failing to cross the whitewash in his 66 caps since making his England debut in 2012, he did score in one of his two appearances for the British & Irish Lions during the 2017 tour to New Zealand.
He is obviously a fan of Friends, except he added his own twist to it by choosing two ducks instead of having a chicken.
7.Partner
Marler is happily married to long-term partner Daisy, with whom he has three children. Jasper, 5, and Maggie, 3, were joined by another new born just before the World Cup commenced.
