The experienced rugby scribe has rated every Lion who played in the test series with these nine receiving his lowest marks.

Maro Itoje, given an 8.5, was given the highest mark despite the series defeat, with a consistently starring role making him a favourite to lead the tourists in 2025.

Stuart Hogg (5/10): "Tough tour for the Scotland captain, who was dropped after a poor second Test under an aerial assault."

Duhan van de Merwe (5/10): "Glimpses of defence-busting talent in the final game but saw little ball out wide and did not look for it enough."

Elliot Daly (5/10): "Played all but one game, but always caught between positions. Didn’t do enough at centre to convince."

Owen Farrell (5/10): "A bit part in the first two Tests, then left out entirely."

Tadhg Beirne (5/10): "Hardly any game time in the Tests, when he could have been a key man. Dynamism underused."

Rory Sutherland (5/10): "Came in late for Wyn Jones and struggled in set piece against fearsome pack."

Sam Simmonds (5/10): "Disappointing that he did not translate his Exeter form to this stage. Intriguing to see what it means for England hopes."

Taulupe Faletau (5/10): "Barely played, which was a surprise after Six Nations form. Could have made up part of a more attacking blueprint."

Hamish Watson (5/10): "Could not find a way past Curry to play more. The Scot deserved his place but made little impact."
