Recently linked with a move to Leicester from Sarries, but rugby transfer guru Neil Fissler is adamant the England second-row has already agreed to join Saints on a season-long loan. A top-class second-row, the 22-year-old would make their line-out imperious.

The World Cup winner's arrival in Washington DC in February caused a mini stir in the United States capital. But, barely three months later, he is back in South Africa, the stint over and done with, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. Where will he go next? The back-rower has not given any details about his future, and at 31, he may still have more miles in the clock. However, this was the final season of his contract with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan, and given the stress his body has been put under throughout his career, no one would blame the flanker for hanging up his boots early - but Saints should certainly enquire.

The 47-cap Wallaby is an international superstar who is available for the Saints to go sign on a short-term deal.

This is due to Toomua, who was forced to take a huge paycut, being given the green light to take a leave of absence from Super Rugby and secure short term contracts in places such as England and the Japanese Top League before returning in time for the July 2021 Test schedule.

Would be an incredible signing.
