4. Vincent Clerc - a 22-minute hat-trick vs Ireland in Paris, 2008
The only man to score a first-half hat-trick in the history of the competition, Vincent Clerc is also the only man on this list of the four fastest trebles to have done it against Ireland.
A natural finisher, Clerc was at his predatory best in the Stade de France in the second round of games in 2008.
Jean-Baptiste Elissalde's perfect kick deep into the left corner released Clerc who comfortably beat Denis Leamy in a foot race to score his first.
His second was made by David Skrela , the fly-half breaking the line down the short side and releasing his winger for a simple run-in.
And his third was similar to his second, this time Cedric Heymans bursting through and feeding Clerc to send the Stade de France crowd into raptures - although they had to hold off an Ireland second-half fightback to secure the victory.
3. Jonathan Joseph - an 18-minute hat-trick vs Italy in Rome
England outside-centre Jonathan Joseph scored the third fastest hat-trick in RBS 6 Nations against Italy, running in three tries in 17 minutes and 59 seconds as England ran out 40-9 winners at the Stadio Olimpico.
An intercept score 13 minutes into the second half opened the floodgates as Joseph cantered under the posts for his first.
The second score owed much to Danny Care, the substitute scrum-half's delicious grubber sitting up perfectly for Joseph to collect and dot down.
And he showcased his power for his third, holding off three would-be tacklers to power over in the left corner for a treble with nine minutes still to go and England finished up 40-9 victors.
2. George North - a ten-minute hat-trick vs Italy in Rome, 2015
George North helped himself to the first Welsh hat-trick in the Championship for 46 years during their clash in Rome.
After a quiet RBS 6 Nations to that point, he blasted over for three tries in quick succession.
The first came in the left corner after good work by Liam Williams, the second was made by Jonathan Davies and finished in similar style before a jinking run from the winger took him under the posts for this third.
In the end a 61-20 victory set in motion the drama of Super Saturday and it was North this time running riot in Rome.
1. Austin Healey - a nine-minute hattrick vs Italy in Rome, 2000
In addition to his own hat-trick, the versatile ace set up two more scores for Ben Cohen in what ended up as a flattering 59-12 victory against the Azzurri
His three scores showcased his varied talents, a winger's finish in the corner for the first, a magnificent solo break, chip and gather for the second, and the coordination to gather Jonny Wilkinson's kick to the corner and dab down for his second.
That set England on their way to a rout, moving top of the standings with four wins from four and seemingly destined for a Grand Slam - until Scotland spoiled the party a fortnight later.
