LIST| Five international stars still looking for a new club

We’ve taken a closer took at seven players with international experience who still find themselves without a club.

1. Kyle Eastmond (England)

Age: 31
Position: Centre
Caps: 6

The 30-year-old was one of five players to have departed Leicester Tigers following the wafe row, alongside Manu Tuilagi, Telusa Veainu, Greg Batemen and Noel Reid, but is the only one currently without a club. He's been heavily linked with a move to London Irish, but isn't rushing a move.

2. DTH van der Merwe (Canada)

Age: 34
Position: Winger
Caps: 61

The Canadian speedster, who played in four World Cup tournaments for his country, wrote his name into the Glasgow history books by becoming their record try-scorer over two spells. Could definitely still do a job for someone.

3. Ian McKinley (Italy)

Age: 30
Position: Fly-half
Caps: 8

Aged 30, he is “taking stock” of his career and is currently training two Northern Irish teams, Ballymena Academy and Rainey Old Boys RFC. The playmaker, who has become an international star despite suffering blindness in his left eye, is still only 30 and has plenty left to give.

4. Gordon Reid (Scarlets)

Age:33
Position: Prop
Caps: 37

The prop has won 41 international caps for Scotland since making his debut in 2014, playing in two Rugby World Cups (England 2015 and Japan 2019), and was part of the 2018 Calcutta Cup-winning side at Murrayfield. Despite unsuccessful short stints with Glasgow and Northampton, he still could make a good signing for someone.

5. Joe Tomane (Australia)

Age: 30
Position: Centre
Caps: 17

The Wallaby, who departed Leinster in the summer, has been consistently brilliant for the Irish province and there should be no shortage of interest in securing the 30-year-old’s services. He was heavily linked with Dragons back in June, but that seems to have gone quiet with a move to Japan also mentioned by some sources.
