LIST: 5 players who have underperformed during the 2021 Six Nations

While some players have exceeded expectations, some have failed to live up to the billing. Here are five 2021 Six Nations stars who have underperformed during the competition so far...

1. Owen Farrell (England)

The England skipper has been off the pace throughout the Six Nations. Farrell can still be the talisman without being the captain, and it seems almost inedible now that he'll be replaced in the near future. Although still odds on to make the Lions tour, a test place is now not so guarenteed.

2. Zander Fagerson (Scotland)

Started the Six Nations as a genuine contender for a Lions test spot, but after his red card against Wales his stock has seemingly collapsed. The emergence of Tadhg Furlong and the form of Kyle Sinckler and Andrew Porter makes his chances of a call-up slim.

DID YOU KNOW? Fagerson was the fourth youngest prop in Scottish history to be capped for the country, and the youngest to represent Scotland for more than half a century (since Bill Black debuted against France at Murrayfield 1948).

3. Conor Murray (Ireland)

The odds now suggest England scrum-half Ben Youngs is more likely to make the Lions squad, which is testament to his current form. Ireland have actually looked a better side since he got ruled out with injury following their opening round defeat to Wales.

4. Ellis Genge (England)

Didn't take his chance when starting against Scotland, instantly losing his place to a returning Mako Vunipola. The emergence of Wyn Jones, who is a terrific player in the loose, means his chances of a Lion place now look slim if the odds are to be believed.

5. Elliot Daly (England)

Potentially one of the most talented utility players on the planet right now, England, Wasps and British Irish Lions star Daly has become one of the greatest conundrums within English rugby. Fullback, wing, centre? One thing for sure is that he's not playing well right now and has to play better. Shouldn't be near the England squad on form.
