In Sir Clive Woodward's final outing, Australia gained sweet revenge for their World Cup final defeat as England were put to the sword in Brisbane.
The Wallabies were ruthless as they ran in six tries to condemn the world champions to a 55-15 defeat.
Wing Clyde Rathbone led the rout with a hat-trick, with Jeremy Paul grabbing a brace and Lote Tuqiri adding a sixth.
But who started for England that ill-fated day. Here's who:
Fullback: Josh Lewsey
The back played on with England until 2008, ending on 55 caps, while he also represented the Lions in 2005. Retired from rugby with Wasps in 2009 before answering an SOS call to play on a short-term deal with the club in 2011. Has worked in business since the end of his rugby career.
Winger: Tom Voyce
2009 brought about the end of Voyce’s Wasps career as he moved to Gloucester. He had two successful seasons with the Cherry and Whites winning the EDF Energy trophy before joining London Welsh in 2012 for one final Premiership season before hanging up his boots. Voyce now works at Investec Bank PLC.
Centre: Mike Catt
Catt picked up his 75th and final England cap in the 2007 World Cup final defeat, retiring after the tournament. Played on with London Irish until 2010, and has coached with Irish, England and Italy since.
Centre: Mike Tindall
Played outside-centre in the 12 shirt in 2003. Tindall earned 75 caps with England, with his last coming at the 2011 World Cup. Retired from the game with Gloucester in 2014. Married Zara Phillips, only daughter of Anne, Princess Royal in 2011. Tindall has worked as a 'celebrity ambassador' since retirement.

Winger: Ben Cohen
Cohen last played for England in 2006 before retiring from the game in 2011 with Sale Sharks. Cohen has made TV appearances on in aid of Relief.

Fly-half: Charlie Hodgson
He played on for England, winning 38 caps in total, until announcing his international retirement in 2012. Transferring to Saracens, he went onto win a plethora of silverware while also becoming the top scorer in Premiership history before hanging up his boots in 2016.
Scrum-half: Andy Gormarsall
Started the 2007 Rugby World Cup final before retiring in 2010 after finishing his club career with Harlequins and Yorkshire Carnegie. He was a co-commentator for ITV’s coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, but is now building his Father’s business, Network 2 Supplies Ltd. as a Director.
Prop: Tim Payne
The Wasps legend hung up his boots in 2013 and is now assitant strength and conditioning coach for the Newcastle Falcons.
Hooker: Mark Regan
In February 2009, Regan announced his intention to retire at the end of the season while at Bristol. He is now Forwards Coach at Clifton Rugby Club playing a part in leading them to the South West One title and the EDF Cup Final at Twickenham. Regan is also currently involved in the buy-to-let property market, working with property investment companies Midas Estates and Property Investment Plan.
Prop: Julian White
One of the most powerful forwards in the game at the time, the tighthead played on until 2012, winning 51 caps for England. He's since thrown himself into farming.

Lock: Simon Shaw
The lock put in a monumental shift for the club between 1997 and 2011 and played a key part in all the club success in this period. A record 339 games for the club, 25 tries and that iconic drop-goal he slotted against Bath in 2000. He went onto play for Toulon between 2011 and 2013 before hanging up his boots. He is now director of Rugby Hospitality company Set Piece Events.
Lock: Stephen Borthwick
During his 16 years in the top flight he captained Bath to a European Challenge Cup triumph in 2008 and also led Saracens to the Premiership title in 2011. He retired from Saracens in 2014 and took up the role of Japan Forwards Coach for the Rugby World Cup. He was appointed Bristol Forwards Coach in November 2015 before joining England the following month.

Flanker: Joe Worsley
The flanker, once such a feature of the English landscape as a broad-chested back-rower for Wasps and England, now works as a coach with the Bordeaux-Begles.
Flanker: Richard Hill
Flanker picked up 71 caps for England before retiring in 2008 after a spate of serious knee injuries. A one-club man with Saracens, Hill worked with the club and RFU after retiring. In 2014 he was appointed RFU Player Pathway Liaison Manager, while 2016 saw him appointed England Rugby senior team manager. Now sits on the England RFU Council.
Number 8: Lawrence Dallaglio
The No 8 played on with England until the 2007 World Cup, with his final cap coming off the bench in final defeat to the Boks in Paris. Dallaglio retired from rugby the following season in 2008 as a Premiership winner with Wasps. Despite stating an intention to coach, Dallaglio has worked in the media since.
