In the rugged world of rugby, where strength, skill, and camaraderie reign supreme, there exists another aspect that occasionally steals the spotlight: the haircuts.
While some players opt for classic styles, others venture into the realm of outrageousness, leaving fans and teammates alike in awe, laughter, or sometimes disbelief.
Among these hair-raising tales, none quite rival the unforgettable moment when Joe Marler, with bold bravado, stepped onto the field sporting a daring mohawk. Yet, this was no ordinary hairdo—it was a marketing masterpiece.
With 'Jolly Hog Sausages' meticulously carved into each side, Marler's head became a walking billboard for teammate Ollie Kohn's venture. It was a stroke of promotional genius that garnered attention far beyond the rugby pitch.
"I think Ollie was quite pleased,' said Marler. 'I knew it was going to be a huge occasion, so a couple of weeks before I said to him, "I've got something lined up for you, but here are my terms.
"I want free Jolly Hog sausages for the rest of the season" and he said, "That's fine". And I said, "I want two aprons that say 'I love sausage' on them and two T-shirts". That was the deal, but I'm still waiting!
"I parted with the mohawk, which I was a bit upset about, but I couldn't part with the rat. I'll keep it for the rest of the season then see what happens. It's all about that boredom factor.
"If I get home and I'm too knackered to do anything else, I think, "Let's do something with my hair"."
Gavin Henson was a superstar in his day and he wanted to look like one too with his fake tan, shaven legs & questionable haircuts.
Although he might have thought he looked the part it's safe to say it's more so become the reason he's rembered in rugby rather than his wide array of skills with ball in hand and out of hand.

Remember Brazillian Ronaldo's haircut back in 2002? Take that flip it, put it on the back of your head and you have this monstrosity from Tevita Mailau who currently is playing in the Top 14 with Stade Montois.

1. Joe Marler
The photos say more than we ever could. Joe Marler is a cult hero among rugby fans with his humurous character & top banter. Marler is just as likely to make a joke at himself as he is to others and I think we can put the haircuts down to that...
