The legendary centre named his British and Irish Lions Test team to face World Cup holders South Africa
The former Bath centre, who laced the winning drop goal in a tense 2-1 series win against the Springboks in 1997, has selected his Test team – and included an incredible 10 Englishmen.
Guscott conceded that there is a lot of rugby to be played between now and the first Test, but is confident that a strong kicking game will be the key to success next summer.
Jeremy Guscott's British & Irish Lions XV:
BACK-THREE
11. Elliot Daly (England), 14. Anthony Watson (England) , 15. Stuart Hogg (Scotland)
"Elliot Daly has a huge boot on him, and I think kicking against the Springboks will be key,"
CENTRES
12. Manu Tuilagi, 13. Henry Slade (England)
"If fit, Tuilagi has to be in there. I've gone for Sladey because I think you need a kicking outside-centre as well as a running outside-centre. I feel you can kick more against South Africa which England didn't in the World Cup final."
HALFBACKS
9. Conor Murray (Ireland), 10. Owen Farrell (England)
FRONT-ROW
1. Mako Vunipola (England), 2. Jamie George (England), 3. Tadhg Furlong (Ireland)
SECOND-ROW
4. Maro Itoje (England), 5. Alun Wyn Jones (Wales)
"Itoje is an obvious pick. I think for me, Alun Wyn Jones always is in contention for man of the match."
BACK-ROW
6. Caelan Doris (Ireland), Tom Curry (England), 8. Billy Vunipola (England)
