Ireland trio back in Leinster camp ahead of Champions Cup Semi-Final - Includes James Lowe

The latest news coming out of the Leinster camp, is that James Lowe, Tadhg Furlong and Andrew Porter are all set to return to training after their respective injury lay-offs. The duo of Diarmuid Mangan and Jordan Larmour are also back in the fold, yet all five returning players will undergo further examinations prior to officially being given the go ahead for the semi-final.

Looking at the returning established Ireland internationals in further depth, Lowe has not been back on the pitch since sustaining a groin injury, in the 2026 Six Nations win over England at Twickenham. The front row will get a sizeable boost should both Andrew Porter and Tadhg Furlong make their returns, as Porter has battled through a calf injury, which side-lined him for the entirety of the latest Championship.

Whilst Furlong did have a brief run in the Six Nations, the tight-head was not at 100 per cent following a problematic leg of his own. Whilst the Wexford man did get some international minutes throughout the campaign, he has since sustained an additional injury in the recent United Rugby Championship defeat to Benetton this past weekend. Further assessment is required for the 33-year-old, who would be a seismic loss for the crucial clash with Toulon at the Aviva Stadium.

The Leinster injury news continued, with confirmation that lock Ryan Baird and fly half Charlie Tector will play no part in this weekend's Champions Cup semi-final. There is also no further injury updates provided on Jack Boyle, Paddy McCarthy, RG Snyman and Alex Usanov, who will all miss out on Saturday's match.
