The Ireland squad trained in the IRFU High Performance Centre on Monday, as the squad prepares for the final Round 5 clash of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations against Scotland. The stage is set at a sold-out Aviva Stadium, with both sides in pursuit of the Triple Crown this Saturday (kick off 2.10pm).
There is also the added importance of an outside shot at the overall Six Nations title on the line, with the winner of Ireland versus Scotland set for an anxious wait. Should France be defeated by England with significant points difference in the closing match of this weekend's 'Super Saturday', then either Andy Farrell or Gregor Townsend's side will take home the Six Nations title.
There are no fresh injury concerns arising from the 27-17 win over Wales. However, Munster loose-head Jeremy Loughman has been ruled out. This sees Connacht prop Billy Bohan re-join the squad having previously featured in the wider training group that underwent the tournament preparations in Portugal
Munster's Brian Gleeson will also train with the squad this week, as the Ulster trio of Cormac Izuchukwu, Jude Postlethwaite and Bryn Ward have all returned to their province ahead of their re-fixed URC clash away to Edinburgh on Friday night. The Ireland team will be named by head coach Andy Farrell on Thursday afternoon, as the excitiement continues to build for the final round of action in the 2026 Men's Six Nations.
