International Rugby Star Killed Alongside Father in Southwark Stabbing Tragedy

Emergency services responded to the incident at 1:04pm on Monday, but despite efforts, Terry was pronounced dead at the scene. Brendan was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, but tragically succumbed soon after.

Brendan was a much-loved figure in the rugby community, having proudly represented Jamaica and played for Old Colfeians RFC. The club paid a moving tribute to him on Instagram, describing him as “one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people you could ever meet.”

“Brendan lit up every room he walked into, forever smiling, always cracking a joke and always full of life,” the statement continued. “His absence will be deeply felt for a long time to come. We will miss him more than words can say and we’ll always carry his memory with us.”

The club also mourned the loss of Brendan’s father, Terry, who was a longtime supporter and sponsor. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”

Three other men were taken to hospital with injuries, including the 31-year-old suspect from Hackney, who remains in police custody. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.
