Henry Slade facts | 10 things you didn’t know about the England centre

Here are seven things you might not know about the popular centre.

It could only be one man.

"There are a few. There’s the obvious Sladey. I also get called Rusty because part of my hair, it’s not ginger but it goes copper in the summer. In my younger years, when I was about 18, I was pretty skinny and got called Skeletor, but I’ve not heard that for a while."

Slade is the great nephew of former Portsmouth F.C. footballer Geoff Williamson.

The centre lives with his long-term partner Megan Browse.

Slade welcomed his first child, Olive, with his partner earlier this month. She's a cutie! However, the birth of his daughter didn’t stop Slade from playing in Premiership Rugby’s return this weekend as he starred in Chiefs’ bonus-point win against Leicester Tigers yesterday.

Slade has Type 1 diabetes, and often injects insulin at half-time in a game.

Slade lives with obsessive compulsive-disorder, OCD to those that know it best. 

"I’ve got two, actually three. The first one is ketchup. I don’t like anything about it – not the taste, not the texture, not the smell. If you get a bit on your finger, the smell stays there for ages, even if you wash your finger. I don’t like brown sauce much, so I tend to go for mayonnaise. Snakes and sharks are my other phobias."

Following the birth of his daughter, he's traded in his Porsche for a Jeep.

Of course, Slade is a dog guy and Frank is his best friend.
