Gloucester boss responds to reports Ollie Thorley could leave

The 24-year-old was been linked with a move to Sale Sharks yesterday by the MaulOver Podcast and Rugby Inside Line.

Discussing the clubs transfer policy, Commercial Director Alex Brown said firsty: "Ollie Thorley is not going anywhere.

"I want to set that record straight!"

More good news was to come as Gloucester then confirmed that hooker Jack Singleton, who initially joined on loan from Saracens, will be joining the club permanently.

The 24-year-old, who has won three caps since making his debut in 2019, has established himself as a fan favourite at Kingsholm since arriving at the club.

Thorley made his professional debut at age 17, becoming the youngest player to play for Gloucester in the professional era when he played the full 80 minutes, partnered with World Cup winner Mike Tindall in a Anglo-Welsh Cup match against Northampton Saints in November 2013.

The speedster, who captained his school athletics team, has the fastest 100m speed of any player in Europe. Thorley – who ran the distance in 10.6 seconds aged 16 – is even faster than England teammate May.
