George Martin has not featured since England’s Six Nations round two clash with France last year, after a nerve problem in his shoulder disrupted what had been a breakthrough spell in his career.
Rest did not fix the issue, and surgery over the summer kept him out for the first half of the season. His recovery has taken longer than expected, testing both the player and the club’s patience.
Still just 24, Martin is set to leave Leicester Tigers for Saracens this summer, where he will join forces with Maro Itoje at club level. For now, the priority is simply getting him back to full fitness and moving freely again.
His most recent appearance for Leicester came on January 17, 2025.
Meanwhile, winger Adam Radwan picked up a "medium-term" lower leg injury in January 2026.
The ankle problem, sustained during a match against Bayonne, required surgery and ruled him out of the 2026 Six Nations, ending a strong run of form and his hopes of an England recall. Centre Solomone Kata is also sidelined.
Ahead of Sunday’s PREM Rugby clash with Bristol Bears, Leicester head coach Geoff Parling provided an update on the injured players.
"Certainly we'll be getting some guys back from injury, and then if that happens then they will be good problems to have."
"They're all progressing well, they're all training. George has progressed well lately, he'll not be longer term anymore, he's going well. Same with Radders, he's going well. Sol can be slightly longer, but with those it's week by week, slightly unknown on some of the return dates. I'd say Radders and George aren't too far away."
Ollie Chessum, Jack van Poortvliet and Joe Heyes are also due back after England duty during the Six Nations.
"Anyone that's involved in every Six Nations game, they need to have a rest period over the next three weeks."
