Four most overpaid players in the Gallagher Premiership this season (2022-23)

Professional plying their trade in the Gall are some of the best paid rugby players in the world. The English top flight is arguably the most widely followed club competition in the world.
The Premiership s not an easy competition to thrive in. Many big players who have found success elsewhere have struggled to do so in the English top flight.
These players end up contributing very little to the side while pocketing a fortune in wages
Without further ado, let's take a look at five of the most overpaid players in the Gallagher Premiership.
#4. Manu Tuilagi - Sale Sharks (£400,000)
Making just 11 appearances in two seasons at the AJ Bell Stadium, Sale Sharks definitely haven't got value for money when it comes to Manu Tuilagi.
The powerhouse centre, who will likely head to Japan following the 2023 Rugby World Cup, has managed to start three games already this season.
#3. Semi Radradra - Bristol Bears (£570,000)
Brilliant and absent in equal measure, it's been a frustrating time for the Fijian at Ashton Gate with fans growing increasingly frustrated with his injury record.
#2. Handre Pollard - Leicester Tigers (£600,000)
Tigers shelled out £600,000 per season to sign World Cup winning Springbok fly-half Handre Pollard from Montpellier over the summer.
He missed the start of the season due to a mix of international duty and injury. The 28-year-old then made a calamitous debut as Tigers were smashed by Saracens, lasting just 27 minutes.
Replacing George Ford was always going to be a struggle, and the early signs could be that Tigers have overpaid for Pollard.

#1. Charles Piutau - Bristol Bears (£1,000,000)
With the reduced salary cap restrictions set to come into effect, it looks highly likely that the highest paid player in the Gallagher Premiership will be moving on when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Charles Piutau was the best fullback in the world in his prime. But the former All Black and current Tonga international, who has been at Ashton Gate for four years, is no longer as exciting as he used to be.
Becoming the leagues first £1m per season player when he joined the club, the Bears are paying an awful lot of money for a player who is no longer best in class.
