Former England captain Owen Farrell confirms he's swapping sports

The 34-year-old will feature in the Captains Clash, where Lewis Gregory's XI takes on Jamie George's XI at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Wednesday, August 19.

Farrell headlines a star-studded line-up that also includes England rugby internationals Ben Earl, Elliot Daly, Max Malins, Jamie Overton and Peter Trego, with current England hooker Jamie George captaining one of the sides.

The event forms part of Lewis Gregory's testimonial year and will raise money for the MND Association, a cause that has become increasingly important within the rugby community.

Farrell is no stranger to charity events, but this will see the former Saracens and England fly-half test his skills in a different sport as he joins a host of sporting stars for the T20 exhibition.

The fixture is scheduled to begin at 3:45pm on Wednesday, August 19, at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton and promises a mix of competitive cricket and entertainment, with proceeds supporting both the Lewis Gregory Testimonial and the MND Association.

Tickets are on sale now, giving fans the chance to watch some of rugby's biggest names swap boots for cricket spikes while supporting two fantastic causes. Supporters can purchase tickets through Somerset County Cricket Club.

With Jamie George leading one side and Somerset captain Lewis Gregory the other, the match is expected to attract both rugby and cricket fans for a unique afternoon of sport, fundraising and entertainment.
