Bath fly-half Finn Russell has issued a heartfelt apology to a fan after an unexpected turn of events during his side’s 42-26 Gallagher Premiership win over Gloucester at the Rec.

The Scotland international accidentally broke supporter Emily’s wrist after a powerful clearance kick flew into the stands. Attempting to punch the ball back onto the pitch, Emily was left nursing more than just disappointment when she later discovered at A&E that her wrist was broken.

“Finn the Muscle” Strikes Again

Emily’s boyfriend, Connor, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the aftermath, posting a picture of her with her arm in a sling. He humorously wrote:

"Finn the muscle Russell sent my girlfriend to A&E today with a hell of a kick! Broken wrist but still supporting @BathRugby.”

Bath Make Amends

Bath Rugby wasted no time in making it up to the couple, inviting them to their next home game with free food and drink. The pair returned to the Rec on Saturday night to watch Bath dismantle Harlequins 47-28.

A Personal Apology from Russell

After the game, Russell went the extra mile by personally presenting Emily with a signed Bath shirt, complete with a cheeky yet sincere message:
