Furbank was forced to withdraw on the eve of England’s defeat against the Springboks and remained behind following the operation.
Roebuck now joins Steve Borthwick’s squad as England turn their attention to a crucial Round Two fixture against Fiji at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
England will be desperate to respond after their opening-round defeat, but they can expect another serious physical test against a Fiji side packed with power and attacking threat.
The Pacific Islanders have become increasingly dangerous on the Test stage and will arrive in Liverpool believing they can cause England major problems.
The match will be shown live on ITV1, with kick-off scheduled for 2.10pm BST.
Following Saturday’s fixture, England will travel to Argentina for their Round Three Nations Championship encounter with Los Pumas at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero.
