England player ratings vs Wales: Who shone and who flopped at Twickenham?

15 Mike Brown: Was poor in Rome a week ago but always turns up for the big games at Twickenham. Some great carries and majestic catches made this the 32-year-old's best performance in a long time. 8.5/10

14 Anthony Watson: Uncharastical knock early on but bounced back with some good running before limping off after 44 minutes. 6.5/10

13 Jonathan Joseph: He returned to the side and as predicted marshalled Rhys Patchell well in defence. Nothing standout to report in attack though. 7/10

12 Owen Farrell: Faz pierced the Wales defence with a superb kick for May's first try. Made some crucial tackles in the last 10 minutes that forced Wales into errors. Captained the team well in the final half an hour. 8.5/10

11 Jonny May: Possibly his best performance in an England shirt, scoring his first two tries ever in the Six Nations. Managed to do his bit in defence too. 8.5/10

10 George Ford: Kicked a lot to put the Wales backs under pressure in the wet conditions.The partnership of Ford and Farrell's was again just excellent. The number 10, in particular, controlled the game very well today. 8/10

9 Danny Care: The playmaker did a good job, setting a high tempo that Wales struggled to deal with. He does the simple things right and injects moments of brilliance when needed. 8/10

8 Sam Simmonds: Struggled to have the same impact this week and was replaced by Sam Underhill at halftime. 6/10

7 Chris Robshaw: He did the hard yards as always with his superhuman work rate. Even when he had to move to number 8, he was still the glue that kept the England pack together. 8.5/10

6 Courtney Lawes: Started superbly in defence as he tackled everything in red that moved. His work rate was relentless. 7.5/10

5 Maro Itoje: Had an epic battle with his Lions roommate Alun Wyn Jones. Probably edged it. Brought great line-speed and defence to the England team right up until the final whistle. 8/10

4 Joe Launchbury: The second-row was on another level. Relentless at the breakdown, his work rate was simply phenomenal. The icing on the cake was his sublime offload for May's second try. 9/10

3 Dan Cole: Give his everything but eventually ran out of steam. 6.5/10

2 Dylan Hartley: A stupid no armed tackle saw Hartley withdrawn for an HIA within 40 seconds. Came back around the 10th minute but was gone by the 50th. 6/10

1 Mako Vunipola: You don't often see a prop go for 76 minutes. Incredible effort. 7.5/10
