England international signs new contract at Saracens

The hooker has been part of the Saracens pathway since the age of 16, progressing through the junior academy before breaking into the senior setup.

Dan made his first-team debut in November 2021 in a Premiership Rugby Cup victory over Harlequins. He featured regularly in that competition and also gained valuable experience through dual registration with Ampthill in the Championship.

Later that season, he made his Premiership debut against Gloucester. His performances earned him promotion to the senior squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

After starting the following season on loan at Ampthill, Dan was recalled due to injuries within the Saracens squad. He went on to enjoy a breakthrough year in North London.

Dan made more Premiership starts at hooker than any other Saracens player during the 2022-23 season. He also scored five tries, the most by a Saracens forward, and played a key role in the club’s Premiership title triumph.

His impact was particularly evident in the final victory over Sale Sharks, where he delivered a standout performance.

Dan’s strong domestic form quickly translated onto the international stage. He was named in England’s Rugby World Cup squad in 2023 just two days after making his senior debut.

He scored his first England try against Chile in the pool stages and added another in the bronze final against Argentina, highlighting his rapid development at international level.

Now firmly established for both club and country, Dan’s new contract secures his future at StoneX Stadium as Saracens continue to build for the coming seasons.
