Bath and England powerhouse Sam Underhill has been hit with a three-week suspension after his red card in last Friday’s Challenge Cup win over Pau.

The 28-year-old flanker saw red in the 55th minute after clattering Pau centre Olivier Klemenczak with a high shot that raised eyebrows—and the referee’s hand.
Underhill admitted his tackle was illegal but tried to argue it wasn’t red-worthy. Unfortunately for him, an independent disciplinary panel didn’t buy it, upholding the red card after review.
World Rugby handed down a six-week ban, but Underhill’s squeaky-clean record and good behaviour in the hearing saw it halved to three weeks.
There’s a lifeline, though—if he completes a World Rugby coaching course, the ban could drop to just two weeks.
