Ellis Genge offered huge money to quit England 

According to RugbyPass' Fissler Confidential column, Genge is being lined up for a big-money move to either France's Top 14 or Japan Rugby League One following the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

The report claims several wealthy clubs are monitoring the 80-cap England international, who signed a long-term contract with Bristol Bears in 2024.

At 32 by the time the 2027 World Cup concludes, Ellis Genge would be in a prime position to secure one final bumper contract, with clubs in Japan and France able to offer salaries well beyond those available in the Gallagher Prem.

Any move abroad before the World Cup would almost certainly end Genge's England career due to the RFU's overseas selection policy.

However, the report suggests the move is being viewed as a post-World Cup switch, allowing the powerful loosehead to continue representing England before pursuing one final payday overseas. 

There is no suggestion Bristol are actively looking to sell their captain, and Genge remains one of the club's marquee players.

The Bears will hope their talisman stays in the West Country beyond 2027, but with interest growing from two of rugby's richest markets, this is a story that could gather momentum over the next 12 months.
