Ellis Genge becomes the first rugby players to wear boots from a completely different sport

Bristol Bears' Ellis Genge is aiming to begin the new season in peak condition after becoming the first rugby player to test NFL-style boots.
Earlier this week, the England vice-captain tried out the new boots, which are sponsored by Nike.
His black boots resemble those worn by linemen in American Football, featuring a Velcro strap over the laces and a high ankle design.
However, Genge’s boots have been specially adapted for rugby, with longer studs on the sole for better grip on the field.
‘With rugby boots now, you want them to be quicker but they are getting a bit less robust for scrummaging. I am testing them out,’ Genge explained to the Mail Online.
‘They are very heavy. It is the first time I have worn them. I paid someone local to do it (convert the boots). Nike are trying. I am back training fully.
‘It is the first time I have had a pre-season for a long, long time, so it has been a bit different. I don’t envy the men who do pre-season every year. It is a very laborious process.
‘I have tried to get into better physical shape. Obviously, I didn’t want to be injured. It is tough. You want to be playing and you want to be active.’
Italy forward reveals how Ellis Genge saved his life on the pitch
Italy flanker Seb Negri has recalled when Ellis Genge saved his life.
"The last time I played England I got a head knock," said Negri, who was writing for Talking Rugby Union.
"I spent four minutes sleeping on the floor and only regained consciousness when I was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Ellis Genge saved my life when he took out my mouthguard. I was choking.
"So to play at Twickenham again this year, against Ellis, that was pretty emotional and pretty special. That’s why I wanted to trade jerseys with him after that game and why that most recent game against England was an awesome memory that stands out."
He continued: "That moment in particular has been a big motivator to take on opportunities like the World XV when they come up. It was a really hard couple of weeks, waking up every day with headaches and struggling. It wasn’t easy.
"It puts everything into perspective and makes you realise what’s important in life and what isn’t important and a reminder that rugby isn’t forever. In a blink of an eye, it can be over. That is just reality.
"You start thinking more about your responsibilities to other people. It makes you appreciate what you have had, all the opportunities that you have been given and to make the most of everything that is given to you.
"It has definitely changed my perspective and I feel like I have grown up a bit more after that and matured in a way. As much as it was a scary time for me, my family, my fiancé and my friends, I think it has made me a better person and I have learnt a lot from it."

England prop Joe Marler is never afraid of sharing an opinion or two - especially when it's about someone he doesn't particularly like.
#1. Gavin Henson
These two have history. Henson was ruled out for a number of weeks in 2016 after Marler clattered the Welsh Prince off the ball.
The England prop was returning to rugby after a troubled 2015-16 season, that prompted the loosehead to take a break from the game in the summer missing England's historic 3-0 whitewash of the Wallabies Down Under.

#2. Sir Clive Woodward
Woodward tore apart Eddie Jones' side during a webinar, slamming Marler and fellow prop Dan Cole for their behaviour in a press conference prior to the loss against South Africa back in November. This wasn't the first time the 2003 World Cup-winning coach called out the prop.
After reading an article on the Rugby Pass website highlighting Woodward's comments, he tweeted him directly, saying: "Change the record Sir Clive - you should be grateful you can 'milk the cow' for another 3 years."
#3. Israel Folau
Over 1,000 days since Folau last played a professional match of rugby union, Marler's old Twitter sparring partner made his return to the sport over the weekend.
The loose-head prop takes any chance he can to call out the former Wallabies fullback, who could soon represent Tonga, for his homophobic views.
In a series of tweets sent directly to Folau, Marler attached pictures and GIFs of men kissing, in a display of defiant humour which was praised by fellow players and LGBTQ fans alike.
Marler later named Folau in his dream team in a tongue-in-cheek fashion.
On selecting Folau as his fullback, Marler commented, "On the night out, after we had played our match on the Saturday, I'd take him out in Brighton to The Blue Oyster... a couple of clubs."
#4. Marland Yarde
The winger dramatically left Harlequins in 2017 to join Premiership rivals Sale Sharks in an unusual mid-season move.
Marler said: “I hadn’t spoken to the bloke in 18 months,
“I’d lost the plot with him a good while ago. And let him be, let him do his own thing, because I’d given up on it
“He’d made the decision that he wanted to leave…you know, all the best to him. I wish him all the best. I don’t wish nastiness upon anyone.
“He’s one of those to just leave, as he won’t change in my mind. Me and him just don’t get on.”
