All Blacks flanker Shannon Frizzell found himself in the sin-bin after just two minutes of the 2023 Rugby World Cup final.
South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi was taken off following the dangerous action from the All Blacks flanker.
Frizzell initially only shown a yellow card, and despite some fans views this wasn't upgraded to a red.
One fan wrote: "Red card all day long. Horrendous act of blatant foul play by NZ no6. Expect yellow to be overturned."
A second said: "I'm afraid Shannon Frizzell knew exactly what he was doing there. He's taken out the one player for whom the Springboks don't have a world-class replacement for, and has probably negated the Bok scrum as a weapon."
Another commented: "Complete shithouse by Frizzell there. Knew what he was at"
"If Frizzell stays on he’ll be very, very lucky," wrote a fourth.
A high-octane start in Paris! 🇳🇿🇿🇦
Shannon Frizell receives a yellow for a clearout on Bongi Mbonambi who is taken off feeling the effects from it 😩
