Chris Robshaw hasn’t given up on representing the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand
The flanker recently suffered a shoulder injury that ruled him out of the 2017 Six Nations
Robshaw has not yet thrown in the towel of impressing the selectors
Injured England flanker Chris Robshaw hasn’t given up on his dream of representing the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand this year.
“The Lions is massive, the pinnacle of European rugby and I want to be there,” told Robshaw The Mirror.

“Of course I want to become a Lion, of course I want it on my CV. I’ve had my sulk and my mope. Now it’s about a positive mindset and working my socks off to get back as soon as I can.”
“My aim is clear: to come back a better player,” he added. “To hit the ground running with Test match intensity from my first game back.”
Robshaw, who lost the England captaincy after their 2015 Rugby World Cup woes, was widely criticised for his form during that tournament.
But in 2016 he became a key contributor to England’s unbeaten year on the international scene, revealing he’s very proud of his achievements.
“I was low on confidence and not knowing what the future held. A lot had been written by X, Y and Z. I was in a bad place. But Eddie came in and gave me back that confidence,” he said.
“A year on I feel proud…that we went a calendar year unbeaten, that we won a Grand Slam and that I won my 50th cap.
“But it’s now not about what’s past but what lies ahead – and getting back out there as soon as is humanly possible.”
