IF ANY figure in rugby deserves an epic biopic than it is legendary referee Nigel Owens.
Born and raised in a small village in South Wales he was appointed as a test official in 2005, before going onto become the most capped international referee in history.
Today Owens owns 100-acres over two farm sites near Pontyberem, in his home county of Carmarthenshire, where he keeps two herds of Hereford cattle.
There are plenty of players and characters I’ve ignored, and remember, it’s just a bit of fun!
So, without further ado, here we go:
COMING TO A CINEMA NEAR YOU...HOPEFULLY
ADULT NIGEL OWENS: IWAN RHEON
It helps that he's Welsh. Although best known for playing the sausage-munching Ramsey Bolton from Game of Thrones, I think his range as an actor would be imperative. The film would likely be a dark comedy, meaning he would have to address the serious issues in Owens life; such as his sexuality, bulimia and battles with mental health.
WAYNE BARNES: ALFIE ALLEN
Since we're going down a dark comedy route, it makes sense to get these old GOT co-workers back together for the Nigel Owens movie. His London accent combined with his tall and skinny appearance make him the perfect casting for Owens friend.
YOUNG NIGEL OWENS: NOAH SCHNAPP
Best known for being an outcast in Stranger Things, Noah would help depict a young nigel trying to find his way in the world during flashback scenes.
EDDIE JONES: TEMEURA MORRISON
This film would be a spin off from The Brighton Miracles, where the 57-year-old played Jones after Japan triumphed over the Springboks at the 2015 World Cup in England.
OWEN FARRELL: TARON EGERTON
From a Kingsman secret agent to England's main man, we're hoping he can step up to the role. He would obvious be the villain of the move.
